The Islander Estate Majestic Plough, Kangaroo Island, Australia

More to Malbec than just Argentina. Rugged brambles, worn suede, vanilla, pepper & coconut.
There would be no wines on Kangaroo Island if it wasn't for the rugged, powerful and legendary stump jump plough used to till the earth. This Malbec is just as rugged, just as powerful and just as legendary. A wine power tool.
In 2000 Jacques Lurton planted an 11ha vineyard near Parndana in Kangaroo Island's heartland and christened the estate 'The Islander'. Close planting to restrict yields and increase concentration, fermentation in concrete tanks and old fashioned basket pressing plus quality fine-grained French oak all combine to produce wines with great structure and longevity.
