Cheeky mix of gooseberries, spice, oak, and lemon curd. Tropical fruit and floral fun make for a plush, irresistible finish.
Plaisir’s Chardonnay grapes are grown on the south-eastern mid-slopes of the Simonsberg, at elevations between 300 and 400 metres above sea level. The vines, averaging 10 years in age, are rooted in well-drained, weathered granite and dryland soils – ideal for producing concentrated wines that reflect their terroir. Hand-harvested in the cool early mornings, the grapes arrive in pristine condition, allowing for minimal intervention at crushing and destemming.
A cheeky mix of ripe gooseberries, fresh spice, lemon curd and a gentle hint of oak on the nose. Light to medium-bodied, it’s packed with tropical fruit and bursts of floral character. Plush, moreish, and seriously fun – this one’s hard to put down.
Charles Marais, a Huguenot peasant from Le Plessis Marly in the Ile de France region wanted a better life for his family. They were plagued by drought, famine, crippling taxes and ensuing poverty. These factors coupled with religious persecution saw them setting sail for the Cape in 1687 where Charles and his family settled; that was the very beginning of Plaisir Wine Estate
The beautiful Plaisir Wine Estate is situated at the foot of the Simonsberg Mountain between Paarl and Franschhoek. The wines produced here are inspired by the harmony of a rich history, the fertile soil and lush vineyards.
