Plaisir Cap Classique Brut Rosé: The answer to life's little dramas – because who needs therapy when you've got bubbles that blush?
This sparkling symphony is your effervescent confidante, turning every moment into a rosy celebration, because, darling, why just sparkle when you can sparkle in pink?
After whole bunch pressing, the juice was left to settle before being pumped into stainless steel tanks for cold fermentation. The Chardonnay grapes were selected from a single 20-year-old vineyard at Plaisir, situated 325m above sea level on the south-eastern slopes of the Simonsberg. The Pinot Noir was sourced from two 17-year-old trellised vineyards in Stellenbosch – one on the north-eastern slopes of the Helderberg, and the other on the southern slopes of the Stellenbosch Mountains.
Aromas of pear, Granny Smith apple, citrus, light yeast, and a touch of red berry lead into a foamy, textured palate. Bright citrus, stone fruit, and tropical notes from the Chardonnay meet sweet glazed red cherries from the Pinot Noir. Delicate toasty nuances carry through to a long, crisp, and refreshing finish.
Charles Marais, a Huguenot peasant from Le Plessis Marly in the Ile de France region wanted a better life for his family. They were plagued by drought, famine, crippling taxes and ensuing poverty. These factors coupled with religious persecution saw them setting sail for the Cape in 1687 where Charles and his family settled; that was the very beginning of Plaisir Wine Estate
The beautiful Plaisir Wine Estate is situated at the foot of the Simonsberg Mountain between Paarl and Franschhoek. The wines produced here are inspired by the harmony of a rich history, the fertile soil and lush vineyards.
