About the wine
Bright, juicy, and refreshingly unpretentious, it offers a lighter take on red wine while still delivering plenty of flavour and finesse. A brilliant example of the variety’s revival in South Africa—supple, expressive, and made for easy, joyful drinking.
Soft tannins and a lively acidity make it an ideal partner for laid-back dinners, BBQs, or just a solo moment of indulgence. Whether you’re new to Cinsaut or already a fan, this bottle is pure, easy-drinking delight.
Tasting notes
This wine exhibits a deep garnet colour. The nose reveals delicate notes of Christmas cake, complemented by soft black fruits. On the palate, it is well-balanced with soft tannins, offering a harmonious and approachable drinking experience.
About the winemaker
Family-owned and managed boutique winery, Mitre’s Edge, is nestled at the foothills of the Simonsberg Mountain, between Paarl and Stellenbosch. It is in this beautiful setting that winemaker Lola Nicholls, assisted by husband Bernard, focuses on producing relatively smaller quantities of high-quality, award-winning wines.
Bernard was a mechanical engineer before becoming the agronomist of the estate while Lola got her passion from her dad who was a viticultural expert.
