Joyce Winery was founded in 1986 by Russell Joyce's father, who planted a small vineyard in Carmel Valley, California. Russell, a self-taught winemaker, has since transformed the winery into a sustainable operation, recently expanding by acquiring and revitalizing the old Ventana Winery in Soledad, all while adhering to organic and terroir-focused winemaking practices.
This Albariño hails from the windy, fog-kissed vineyards of Arroyo Seco AVA, where grapes chill out longer than a beach bum on a sunny day. Grown in rocky soils that could double as a Zen garden, this wine packs a punch of peach, piña colada, and sea breeze on the nose. On the palate, it's a tropical adventure with white pineapple, pink grapefruit, lime zest, river rock, and a hint of oyster shell. Fermented with ambient yeast and a 70/30 split of stainless steel and neutral French oak, this 12.5% ABV sipper is as refreshing as a seaside vacation.
