Central Otago has the motto A World of Difference? Try this to see what they mean.
Denis is an environmentalist political junkie. He had stints as the Associate Minister of Agriculture, Minister of Conservation, Minister of Land, the purchased a plot in the Gibbston Valley and planted Pinot Noir in 2001. He is the descendant of the 19th century naturalist William Swainson, a Fellow of the Royal Society, settled in New Zealand and named his first home "Hawkshead."
It is delightfully expressive and delicious now and will be very much appreciated by Pinot Noir aficionados in time (10 + years). Our goal is to make wine with minimal intervention and let the grapes speak for themselves, which means maximum flavour
