California knows how to party. Yes they do. California Love.
Did you just think Sutton Coldfield? That's fine, so did we. But this is very much yummy not Brummie. In this wine Dan and Steve have tried to produce their vision of a classic Russian River Valley Chardonnay. Grapes are picked from five of their eighty little plots scattered through the region, most of the vines are over 30 years old.
On the nose, this Chardonnay presents zesty lime, lemon, and tangerine, backed by sultry notes of lemon oil and roasted nuts. On the palate, it offers fresh citrus, luscious creaminess, followed by rounder flavours of pear, green apple, and a touch of apricot. The finish reveals a dash of toasty chestnut, rounding out its vibrant yet smooth profile.
Dutton Goldfield was born in 1998 out of a friendship between Steve Dutton, a 5th generation farmer who has worked on vineyards since the age of 5, and Dan Goldfield, a seasoned winemaker who has worked at Robert Mondavi and La Crema. Both loved the cool climate vineyards of Sonoma's Russian River Valley and so decided to join forces.
