When the winemakers tell you that this is their favourite wine and they enjoy making it more each year, you know you are on to a good thing. Dan and Steve gush over this little beauty like doting parents. And they only make 24 barrels of it, so production is as small and precious as a newborn baby.

Tasting notes

On the nose, this Pinot Noir reveals bright cherry, cigar box, and rhubarb pie aromas. On the palate, it delivers sweet cherry and berry plush fruit, with savoury notes of thyme, cardamom, and clove. The wine is supported by bright acidity and youthful tannins, making for a smooth, lingering finish.

About the winemaker

Dutton Goldfield was born in 1998 out of a friendship between Steve Dutton, a 5th generation farmer who has worked on vineyards since the age of 5, and Dan Goldfield, a seasoned winemaker who has worked at Robert Mondavi and La Crema. Both loved the cool climate vineyards of Sonoma's Russian River Valley and so decided to join forces.
