Nope not Sutton Coldfield. This is Russian River Valley. Yummy not Brummie.
Be prepared to saddle up because Dutton Goldfield farms 80 tiny plots spread throughout the Russian River Valley, and this is a blend of Pinot Noir from seven of their best sites. Each throws something unique into the mix. The Morelli Lane site adds warm cherry, Freestone Hill adds depth and spice, etc.
On the nose, this Pinot Noir offers aromas of black cherry, raspberry, and boysenberry, with hints of violets, redwood brush, and cinnamon. On the palate, it delivers sweet cherry and blackberry flavours, edged with cranberry and a spice box finish. The wine is both silky and firm, with a lingering earthy finish that adds depth to its profile.
Dutton Goldfield was born in 1998 out of a friendship between Steve Dutton, a 5th generation farmer who has worked on vineyards since the age of 5, and Dan Goldfield, a seasoned winemaker who has worked at Robert Mondavi and La Crema. Both loved the cool climate vineyards of Sonoma's Russian River Valley and so decided to join forces.
