Sauvignon Blanc with its head in the clouds and its roots in the Cederberg
About the wine
This fresh, zippy, Sauv is wonderfully expressive, fragrant, and full of those delicious fruity and herbal flavours, balanced with a lovely texture too!
From the soaring peaks of the Cederberg comes a Sauvignon Blanc with serious lift. Grown at extreme altitude, this wine channels the region’s cool mountain air and rugged terrain into a crisp, expressive style that’s anything but ordinary. It’s South African Sauvignon Blanc—but not as you know it.
Tasting notes
This high-altitude Sauvignon Blanc opens with a clean, aromatic nose showing citrus zest and subtle herbal notes. The palate is crisp and vibrant, with refreshing acidity and a fine mineral backbone, leading to a long, clean finish. The cool mountain climate of the Cederberg imparts freshness and finesse to the wine.
About the winemaker
Snow capped mountains in South Africa? You better believe it! High up in the Cederberg Mountain ranges, about 250km north of Cape Town, this relatively new and small region produces some truly stunning wines.
Charl Du Toit has created something really special here, the cool mountain air and the rocky soils helps this unique terroir to produce some of South Africas most awarded wines.
Driehoek Guest Farm is a private, family-run farm; hidden within the great Cederberg Wilderness Area. A family treasure that dates back to the early 1800s.
