Faced with tough conditions every day of their lives, these grapevines are rooted 100 years into the very ground in which they were planted. Named after the rugged ‘Puigs’ they call home (or ‘steep hillsides’ to us!), their rich grapes hold equally firm flavors!

The J.M. Fuentes Gran Clos estate is planted with vines aged up to 100 years. Winemaker Josep Angel Mestre hails from nearby Falset, considered the ‘capital’ of DOCa Priorat. Arid, rugged, and nearly surrounded by the cliffs of the nearby Montsant Mountains, the region is famed for its licorella soils comprised of black slate and shale rock.
