A bold, expressive Rioja that pays tribute to the heritage and character of Murillo de Río Leza, the home village of winemaker Francisco García. La Villa de Paco is a personal project that showcases a modern interpretation of Rioja while honouring its roots.
Made from 85% Tempranillo and 15% Mazuelo grown at high altitudes in the foothills of the Sierra de Hez, the fruit benefits from cooler nights and slower ripening, allowing for greater complexity and freshness. After a careful harvest, the wine undergoes fermentation in stainless steel before being matured for 24 months in fine French oak barrels, adding depth and refinement without overshadowing the fruit.
On the nose, it bursts with ripe black cherry, cassis, and plum, alongside notes of vanilla, clove, and a hint of forest floor. The palate is rich and structured, with velvety tannins, well-integrated oak, and a long, savoury finish. There’s a beautiful balance between power and elegance, with subtle earthy undertones and lifted acidity that promises further development in bottle.
La Villa de Paco is a wine that speaks of place and personal legacy—a contemporary Rioja that bridges the gap between tradition and innovation, crafted with precision, passion, and a clear sense of identity.
