Grown on 30 year old vines with minimal intervention - this might just be the Riesling you were looking for!
About the wine
Brings exactly what its name already suggests into the glass: a Riesling with the typical taste of the terroir - the slate.
This Riesling is a textbook expression of the Saar, shaped by steep slopes and the region’s signature slate soils. Crisp, focused, and full of energy, it captures the unique character of its terroir with clarity and finesse. A vibrant, mineral-driven white that’s all about precision, purity, and place.
Tasting notes
The nose is youthful and vibrant with aromas of citrus, apple, and subtle flinty minerality, layered with hints of lime, nut, and floral notes. On the palate, it’s fresh and fruity, showing crisp apple and citrus flavors, mineral undertones, a touch of nuttiness, and a delicate herbal finish.
About the winemaker
Never have we been blown away so quickly with the quality of a new producer! Annelena, and her 26 year old winemaker brother Felix Heimes are the dynamic duo making the magic happen.
Produced on 12 hectares of some of the steepest slopes in the wine world, so everything is done by hand (far too steep for those poor old tractors!). Originally planted way back in 1898 by Maria Puricelli who also helped to build the original estate, the Heimes family now own this amazing, sustainable, winery, and keep getting better year after year.
