Like wandering through a Pacific Northwest forest in autumn with a basket of cherries.
About the wine
When people talk about Oregon’s winemaking, they talk about it’s Pinot Noir. It gets people hot under the collar, and this one in particular has the same effect on us! Pinot Noir (literally meaning ‘Pine’ & ‘Black’) packs a flavour bursting with fruits of the forests it’s made in. Huckleberry, boysenberry and and earthy notes of truffle, make it a taste of the state of Oregon itself (quite literally!)
Tasting notes
Maraschino cherry, cocoa, white pepper, and a touch of light tobacco lift from the glass. On the palate, dark cherry and blue fruit unfold alongside notes of black tea and cocoa. Fine tannins smooth out quickly and elegantly, carried by a round, vibrant mouthfeel. The finish lingers with light spice, aromatic lift, and subtle mineral tones.
About the winemaker
From the heart of the Pacific Northwest, is a tale of artisan winemaking in a region much better known for its weather! The Lange family (firstly Don and now Jesse), have forged their own path in their beloved Oregon, through sustainable means of production, and supporting charities in their local community. In a State with such unique geology and changeable climate, its vulnerable grapes reach maturity slowly, making Oregon an unlikely, but incredible winemaking location. It’s fair to say that family runs deep in this Estate, (keen fly-fisher Jesse, even put his other passion into their logo) and the Oregon spirit runs right through them. That’s something we’ll happily drink to!
