A wine that prooves that a little rot and a lot of patience can create something downright magnificent.
Welcome to the enchanting world of Tokaj Aszú, where grapes and nature conspire to create a wine that whispers sweet symphonies to your taste buds. Nestled in the picturesque Tokaj wine region, this liquid gold is the result of a harmonious collaboration between sun-kissed grapes and the serenading melodies of botrytis.
Tokaj Aszú is like a humble alchemist that transforms ordinary grapes into pure ambrosia. Each grape is lovingly hand-picked, choosing only those that have been gently caressed by the noble rot.
This wine has aromas of dried fruits, honey, caramel, and subtle floral notes. On the palate, it is luscious and sweet with balanced acidity, offering flavours of dried fruits, caramel, and nuts, leading to a long, refreshing finish.
The Kvaszinger's arrived in Tokaj, from Prussia in the 1800s. They immediately put down roots and one of them was employed as the local baron’s steward. In 1929, winemaker Laszlo Kvaszinger’s great-grandfather Ödön paid the baron’s gambling debts and received Hatalos vineyard as a token of his appreciation. The Kvaszinger's held onto the property for the rest of the 20th century, through two World Wars and Hungary’s bout with Communism – and today, they are expanding the winery’s holdings under the leadership of László Kvaszinger, Jr. He's a winemaker, export manager, enologist and he embodies everything that Humble Grape loves: great wine, humility and hard work.
