About the wine

This wine is Limited for the following reasons: Only one block (0.8 hectare) that is 100% dedicated to this label. A single clone, 312, is used for the Ltd Release No one in SA makes a Cabernet Franc from this clone alone, making it very unique and offering you something you cannot get anywhere else. It has a more fruity body with more prominent red fruit flavours and is quite lively on the pallet.Produce a mere 250-350 cases of the Cabernet Franc Ltd Release. Very limited amount available with low annual production.

Tasting notes

Deep red in color. Cedar and Pomegranate on the nose. Ripe red fruit with mulberry, pomegranate and fynbos on the pallet. Rich smooth mouth feel with a lingering complex finish.

About the winemaker

This is proper family endeavour. Dr Jacques Malan gave up his practice to pursue his love of wine. Now his son Anton makes the wine and his other son Francois tends the vines of the 22 hectare estate in Stellenbosch. The vineyards rise up from the valley floor to 550m above sea level high up the Jonkershoek Mountain.
