Eco-friendly wine made from a tiny parcel of old vines. Plum, cherry & tea leaf.
Armujan can be translated as Apricot in old Piedmontese language. The vines are between 60-70 years old from a 1.5 hectares vineyard. The grapes are hand harvested and matured in new and one year old fine grained French barriques for 18 months and bottled without fining or filtration.
The 2022 Barbera d’Alba Armujan Superiore from Podere Ruggeri Corsini pours a deep ruby red and opens with inviting aromas of ripe plums, red fruits, spicy oak, and a hint of tea leaf. The palate follows through with the same vibrant fruit and spice, supported by firm yet well-integrated tannins. Structured and flavourful, this is a bold and expressive Barbera with great balance and ageing potential.
Loredana Addari and Nicola Argamante decided they'd enough of their jobs in the city, so they packed it all in, studied winemaking and bought a tiny vineyard in Monforte d'Alba. They upgraded the traditional estate into an eco-friendly haven by adopting lighter bottles, handpicking, solar panels and natural wastewater purification, and by massively reducing the use of chemical treatments and sulphur.
