Inspires you to sell everything & buy a vineyard, just like Loredana and Nicola
The 2006 vintage was an excellent year in Barolo, characterized by a long and balanced growing season that allowed Nebbiolo to develop beautifully ripe tannins and complex aromatics. Cool nights helped preserve acidity, ensuring freshness and longevity, while warm days contributed to the richness and structure that define this vintage. Now, with nearly two decades of evolution, this Barolo has softened its youthful intensity, revealing layers of complexity and refinement.
In the glass, this Barolo DOCG 2006 presents a deep garnet color with brick-orange reflections, a hallmark of aged Nebbiolo. The nose is intricate and inviting, offering dried cherries, rose petals, tar, truffle, leather, and sweet spices, alongside hints of balsamic and forest floor. On the palate, it remains vibrant yet mature, with finely integrated tannins and a lifted acidity that keeps the wine fresh and structured. Flavors of dried red fruit, earth, tobacco, and subtle herbal undertones unfold gracefully, leading to a persistent, mineral-driven finish.
This aged Barolo is a perfect match for braised meats, game, wild mushroom risotto, aged cheeses like Parmigiano Reggiano or Pecorino, and truffle-based dishes. Its structure and depth also make it a contemplative wine, ideal for enjoying on its own.
Loredana Addari and Nicola Argamante decided they'd enough of their jobs in the city, so they packed it all in, studied winemaking and bought a tiny vineyard in Monforte d'Alba. They upgraded the traditional estate into an eco-friendly haven by adopting lighter bottles, handpicking, solar panels and natural wastewater purification, and by massively reducing the use of chemical treatments and sulphur.
