Jog on New Zealand. Eco-friendly & free from the corruption of civilisation.

Zingy, tropical and free from the corruption of civilisation. Literarily speaking the Noble Savage is a person unsullied by the modern world, symbolising nothing but innate human goodness. It's difficult to imagine a more fitting name for this crisply fresh white, hand-crafted on the inhospitably steep slopes of Banghoek Valley by husband and wife team Michael and Rose Jordaan, who planted more than 7,000 trees on their estate to keep the fripperies of progress at bay.

Established in 1912, Bartinney has been in the Jordaan family since 1953. Now Michael and Rose Jordaan tend to the 28-hectare farm, with a vision to create excellent wines and reawaken the charm of the historic land. And charming is right: perched on the dramatic slopes of Botmaskop alongside the Helshoogte Pass, overlooking the picturesque Banghoek Valley in Stellenbosch. Google it: if you want to feel disappointed in the view from your own front window.
