Today, their daughters Francesca and Vittoria are part of the winery too, making Ruggeri Corsini very much a family story.

Their roots are firmly Piedmontese, but they’ve never been afraid to experiment. Alongside Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto, they work with grapes such as Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Viognier, and have even helped bring the almost-forgotten local Baratuciat grape back into the spotlight.

What we love most is that there’s real curiosity behind the wines, but no need to overcomplicate them. The vineyards sit in one of Italy’s great wine landscapes, and everything starts with a simple idea: good grapes, thoughtful farming and wines that feel true to where they come from.

That same approach carries into how the estate is run. Ruggeri Corsini has invested in lighter bottles, solar power, natural wastewater purification and certified sustainable vineyard management, reducing its impact without making sustainability a marketing exercise.

This six-bottle case brings together some of the wines that best tell their story: classic Langhe, serious Barolo and a little of the curiosity that has shaped Ruggeri Corsini for more than 30 years.

Six bottles. One family. A very good introduction to Monforte d’Alba.

Can't commit? Neither can we. Shop for them separately! Arneis, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay come together in a fresh, aromatic white with tropical fruit, herbs and a clean mineral finish. Easy to enjoy, but with enough character to remind you this comes from serious Langhe vineyards.

Podere Ruggeri Corsini Dolcetto d'Alba, 2022, Piedmont, Italy

Dolcetto is one of those wines Piedmont locals have always understood. Juicy cherries and blackberries, a little almond and just enough grip to keep things interesting. Ruggeri Corsini keeps it fresh and straightforward, making this the bottle you can open without needing a special occasion.

Podere Ruggeri Corsini Barbera d'Alba, 2022, Piemonte, Italy

Barbera is all about fruit and freshness, and this is a lovely example of why the grape is such a Piedmont favourite. Ripe plum, plenty of natural acidity and a generous feel, without becoming heavy. The sort of red that disappears surprisingly quickly around a table.

Podere Ruggeri Corsini, Langhe Nebbiolo, 2021, Piemont, Italy

Think of this as a very good introduction to the grape behind Barolo. Nebbiolo brings violets, berries, a touch of mint and black pepper, with that unmistakable freshness and gentle grip. Ruggeri Corsini ages it for a year in large Slavonian oak, giving it time to settle without hiding the fruit.

Podere Ruggeri Corsini Bussia, 2021, Barolo, Piedmont, Italy

One of the more unusual bottles in the case. Albarossa is a Piedmontese crossing of Barbera and Nebbiolo di Dronero, and Ruggeri Corsini makes just a small amount from its own vineyard in Monforte d’Alba. Full-bodied, fragrant and structured, this is the bottle for anyone who likes discovering something they probably haven’t tried before.

Podere Ruggeri Corsini Autenzio, Albarossa, 2021, Piedmont, Italy

And then there’s the Barolo. Made from 40 to 60-year-old Nebbiolo vines in Monforte d’Alba, this is the serious end of the Ruggeri Corsini story. Cherries and red berries sit alongside liquorice, herbs, spice and darker notes, with 30 months in oak giving it depth and plenty of room to develop in bottle. A bottle to enjoy now with time in the glass, or hide away for later.
