Leopards & honey badgers wander through this eco-friendly mountain vineyard.
Bartinney Cabernet Sauvignon is a bold yet elegant expression of Stellenbosch’s acclaimed terroir. Sourced from high-altitude vineyards on the slopes of the Helshoogte Pass, this meticulously crafted Cabernet showcases the perfect balance of power and finesse.
The nose reveals intense aromas of blackcurrant, dark cherry, and plum, intertwined with hints of cedar, tobacco, and graphite. On the palate, fine-grained tannins and a vibrant acidity create a structured yet silky mouthfeel, leading to a long, complex finish with lingering notes of spice and dark chocolate.
Established in 1912, Bartinney has been in the Jordaan family since 1953. Now Michael and Rose Jordaan tend to the 28-hectare farm, with a vision to create excellent wines and reawaken the charm of the historic land. And charming is right: perched on the dramatic slopes of Botmaskop alongside the Helshoogte Pass, overlooking the picturesque Banghoek Valley in Stellenbosch. Google it if you want to feel disappointed in the view from your own front window.
