Made in the same way as France's favourite fizz, but with the noble Riesling grape. Maybe its time you got Sekt?
What do you mean you've never tried "German Champagne"? Sekt is just that (well... kind of...).
Crafted with the same traditional method and serious attention to detail, this sparkling wine from Weingut Würtzberg combines old-school technique with cool-climate precision. Grown on steep slate slopes and made from top-quality grapes, it's a refreshingly elegant bottle that proves German bubbles deserve a spot in your ice bucket.
The nose opens with a touch of creaminess and subtle yeasty notes. On the palate, it’s fresh and lively, with a fine, frothy mousse carrying hints of ripe citrus and green apple, leading to a crisp, clean finish.
Never have we been blown away so quickly with the quality of a new producer! Annelena, and her 26 year old winemaker brother Felix Heimes are the dynamic duo making the magic happen.
Produced on 12 hectares of some of the steepest slopes in the wine world, so everything is done by hand (far too steep for those poor old tractors!). Originally planted way back in 1898 by Maria Puricelli who also helped to build the original estate, the Heimes family now own this amazing, sustainable, winery, and keep getting better year after year.
