Cellers Fuentes Gran Clos Blanco, 2017, Priorat DOQa, Spain
Sold Out (inc VAT)
Made from 100 year old vines. Nuff said.
J.M. Fuentes says, "Vines, like people, often reach their peak in the face of adversity."
To top it off, this complex white spends 7 months in French oak barrels with lees stirring (Even if you don't know what all that jazz means, your palate will explain it to you!).
The J.M. Fuentes Gran Clos estate is planted with vines aged up to 100 years. Winemaker Josep Angel Mestre hails from nearby Falset, considered the capital of DOCa Priorat. Arid, rugged, and nearly surrounded by the cliffs of nearby Montsant Mountains, the region is famed for its licorella soils comprised of black slate and shale rock.
