The Islander Estate Old Rowley, 2014, Kangaroo Island, Australia
Sold Out (inc VAT)
White pepper, thyme, candied red fruit. Beaujolais meets Kangaroo Island.
A one-off parcel for all our Islander Estate aficionados. A rich and smooth blend of Shiraz, Grenache and Viognier that has undergone carbonic maceration, the technique used in Beaujolais. A true original from Jacques Lurton.
In 2000 Jacques Lurton planted an 11ha vineyard near Parndana in Kangaroo Island's heartland and christened the estate 'The Islander'. Close planting to restrict yields and increase concentration, fermentation in concrete tanks and old fashioned basket pressing plus quality fine-grained French oak all combine to produce wines with great structure and longevity.
