Château Hourtin-Ducasse, 2015, Bordeaux, France
£33.60 (inc VAT)
A sunny vintage and then a practically perfect picking imparted lots of big, bright blackberries to this fulsome fellow. Fruity, characterful and smooth. Already turning heads, but would it really be so bad to lay it down for a while? Depends on how patient you are, we suppose. You do you.
Hourtin-Ducasse is located in the heart of the Haut-Medoc. It’s relatively the baby of all of the Bordelais châteaux and was founded in the 18th-19th centuries by two men, Mr. Hourtin and Mr. Ducasse. The current family is the Marengo family, who aim is to protect the richness of the terroir, stand by their vines, then raise their wines to make each vintage express all its character.
