Lup̩é-Cholet (Albert Bichot) "Les Malconsorts" Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru, 2011, Burgundy, France
£131.00 (inc VAT)
Vosnée-Roman̩e is home to some of the rarest and most precious wines in the world. The origin of the term "Malconsorts" is uncertain but it may refer to the troubled history of ownership, with various court battles required to assert or defend ownership of this magic place. This starts dark and brooding then explodes on the palate with bright fruit and subtler, woody aromas. The soil doesn't care who owns it: magic is magic, no matter the name.
Founded in the 19th Century, Albert Bichot boasts 6 generations of winemakers, and at the helm of this legendary family endeavour, Alberic Bichot, who has acquired small plots in the most prestigious area of Burgundy. Located in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, the Bichot wines provide an exceptional expression of the land.
