For generations, the Caselli family have been stewards of a quality-driven mixed farm (olives, vines and small spaces for grazing), based in the southern Montalcino Cru of Castelnuovo dell' Abate. In 1997, La Colombina converted to specialist wine growing, and the Caselli's experience with the land let them get off to a flying start. The exposure, the altitude, the winds, the angle of the vines: La Colombina is a young vineyard with an old head on its shoulders.
